Petra Marklund, l’anima pop di September

Artisti che sanno riscoprirsi in vesti diverse da quelle cui siamo abituati a sentirli e hanno successo lo stesso. Succede a Petra Marklund, la 28enne svedese che è nota al grande pubblico con lo pseudonimo di September. Tanta musica da ballare e ritmo. Fino a che a metà 2012 esce “Inferno“, il suo quinto album da studio, sull’onda dei quattro precedenti, tutti di grande successo (l’ultimo dei quali, Love Cpr vincitore di due dischi di platino).

Il nome stampato sul disco è quello suo di battesimo, appunto Petra Marklund e il singolo di lancio è completamente in lingua svedese (lei di solito preferisce l’inglese, pur non disdegnando la sua lingua): “Händerna mot himlen” (Mani al cielo) è un pezzo di classe e spessore, un pop di livello che rende giustizia ad un’artista sin qui apprezzata solo per le sue cose più leggere. Nessuna traccia della dance nel suo lavoro, più personale ed intimo, ma molto gradevole. Per farvi un’idea della differenza, provate ad ascoltare “Hands up”, il singolo uscito sempre nel 2012 per Love Cpr col suo nome d’arte. O anche “Can’t get over”, una delle sue cose migliori a livello dance. Belle, ma tutt’altro sound.
