Daniel Balthasar, il pop rock che arriva da Lussemburgo

Andiamo alla scoperta di nuovi mondi musicali. Anche se poi riferito a Daniel Balthasar il termine è improprio perchè il cantautore lussemburghese è sulla scena ormai da parecchio tempo. Pur lontano dal mainstream (la sua musica è interamente autoprodotta), ha celebrato recentemente i 10 anni di attività, sia live che discografica, con la sua produzione di pregevole fattura, pop rock sicuramente più vicino al mondo indie che a quello più classicamente radiofonico.

“Everything is temporary” è il quinto album, di cui sopra trovate la title track. Registrato a Londra, negli studi di Peter Gabriel e fra Belgio, Olanda e Lussemburgo, contiene diverse ottime cose, fra cui per esempio “Away” e una serie di collaborazioni con artisti lussemburghesi, alcuni di fama internazionale come Claudine Muno, altri più noti solo nel Granducato anche per il fatto che si esibiscono in  lingua lussemburghese, come il cantautore e attore Serge Tonnar.

Di certo, è uno che con la sua band ha girato il mondo  e collaborato con tanti. Per esempio con Sarah Bettens, dei K’S Choice  gruppo rock belga degli anni 90, presente anche in questo album. Nel 2010, in “Walk under water” incisero insieme “All this time”, dal sapore folk. Ma meritano un ascolto anche altre sue cose passate: per esempio “Accidentally“, estratto da “Palpitations” come anche “Now” e “Ocean”.
